2019 Spring Girls Softball

2019 Spring Season

The softball program provides girls, ages 5 - 14 of all abilities, an opportunity to learn and enjoy this exciting and rewarding sport. In addition to learning the game, kids will also learn how to be part of a team, communicate and problem solve with their peers, learn respect for their teammates, coaches, opponents and umpires, and begin to build leadership skills. Softball, like many sports, gives kids an opportunity to make new friendships which may last a lifetime! 

*Regular Season Registration closes on 2/25 a $50 late fee will be add for any late registrations if space is still available.

2019 SEASON

  • Evaluations for 8U - 14U players will take place on March 2nd from 7:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Hinsdale South Field House
  • Jersey Fittings for ALL levels will take place on March 2nd from 7:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Hinsdale South Field House.
  • Team practices will begin in March
  • Season Starts towards the end of April and Ends towards the end of June - actual schedule will be available in April

Softball Levels

  • Fundamentals 6U Ages 5 & 6
  • Minors 8U Ages 7 & 8 (No Arc / Machine Pitch)
  • Majors 10U Ages  9 &10 (Fast Pitch) 
  • Juniors 12U Ages 11 &12 (Fast Pitch)
  • Seniors 14U Ages 13 &14 (Fast Pitch)

Age eligibility is based on the child's age on January 1, 2019. All leagues, except Fundamentals, travel to play away games at surrounding towns.

2019 DYC Divisional Spring Soccer

The DYC is offering spring soccer -  This program is a no-pressure, fun way to learn the basics of soccer.  - The season starts the first week in April and runs through the beginning of June. - Practices are during the weekday.    - Players will receive jerseys & socks.

Games are to be played in either Darien, Woodridge or Lisle.
Game times and days to be determined.

Division 3 - 3rd and 4th grade

Division 2 - 5th and 6th grade

Division 1 - 7th and 8th grade

This program is a recreational league that allows children to have fun and experience healthy competition. There is a player draft, and we need volunteer coaches at all levels!

All coaches and directors strive to make teams even so all the children enjoy the season. Our goal is to have one practice per week depending on field availability. The season will be a minimum of 7 games, weather permitting.

2019 DYC Baseball

DYC offers six different age levels for our baseball program:

T-Ball 4/5/6 Year Olds- Instructional league focusing on teaching fundamentals with emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork. While T-ball is offered to both girls and boys, DYC also offers a 6U Instructional Softball division for girls.

Pinto 7U - Still focusing on teaching, this division incorporates more baseball concepts with coach pitch. 60' bases.

Pinto 8U- The same rules at 7U Pinto, but now with kid pitch. 40' pitching distance and 60' bases.

Mustang 9U/10U- More advanced baseball with stealing. 46' pitching distance and 60' bases.

Bronco 11U/12U- Full baseball rules under the GDPBA including lead-offs, stealing and balks. 50' pitching distance and 70' bases. Away games will be held in nearby towns.

Pony 13U/14U- Full baseball rules under the GDPBA. 54' pitching mound and 80' bases. Away games will be held in nearby towns.

Colt 15U/16U-Full baseball rules  under the GDPBA. Full size field with 60' 6" pitching mound and 90' bases. Away games will be held in nearby towns.

Cut-off dates are determined by the child's age before September 1st. Please refer to the Pony Age Key.

Playing up - if you would like your child to play up above their designated division, please contact your division director below. 

Mustang, Bronco. Pony, and Colt divisions will have player evaluations before the season. These dates are to be determined.
